All about Dr. Josh
I grew up as most kids do riding bikes all over
the neighborhood gaining inspiration from Cru and
his boys in the movie "RAD".
I started racing BMX bikes until my bike was stolen and put an end to
that hobby due to lack of funds. I then moved
on to road bikes and after one year of riding stairs
and stuff on the campus of Texas A&M, I decided the
Centurion road bike should probably give way to a
mountain bike.
I traded my road bike for a
Mongoose Rockadile hardtail with no front suspension
and rode the heck out of it. I finally decided
I would swap in a set of RockShox Judy XC forks and
was happy with that. Then comes in
NB and the
Land Rover addiction.
NB and I spent many hours building our rigs to
our liking, and many other things as well. On
a trip to Moab in the Land Rovers, we took a day and
rode part of the Slickrock trail. After that
ride, I realized my headtube had cracked, and it was
spiraling down around the top tube weld. We
are still working on getting that frame welded up,
so for now I am riding a Gary Fisher Joshua Z that
shaggy let me borrow a couple of years ago when I
moved to California.
NB and I then decided Adventure motorcycling
was the direction we wanted to head, and I bought a KLR, and he bought the F650. Needless to say,
we have spent some time together, and it was a
natural transition to Adventure Racing.
After the first race (even though I was still so
out of shape) we knew we wanted to continue running,
riding, paddling, etc. so here we go...
